Kia picanto 1.2 gt line driving report

The cities are getting fuller, the cars are getting bigger. Good to know that with the Kia Picanto, one of the few is still as small as ever. The third generation comes as a 3.60 meter short mini car with honest engines, clever details, but above all in motley shapes and colors. Driving report.

Kia Picanto available from 9,990 euros – but more is possible

The Kia Picanto is not just “normal”, but also as a GT Line or, more recently, as an X Line in crossover style. Depending on what you choose, however, the price rises from 9,990 euros to almost double that. As in our case, where the test car has a final price of 17,230 euros. However, it includes almost everything that is fun and more than you actually need in this price segment. In addition to the navigation system, however, there is also an inductive charging cradle and an extremely special make-up mirror on the driver’s side.

Clever detail: make-up mirror with warm yellow LED light

The latter – clearly visible in our video driving report – illuminates the face very well with warm yellow light from the front. To be on the safe side, you should stop to refresh your make-up. A parking space can also be found quickly using a reversing camera and very smooth steering. The sporty look is also evident in the rather hard chassis, which – in my opinion – sets it apart from its competitors, which are all rather softly tuned. Thus, the Kia Picanto cuts a fine figure with the comfortable seating on long journeys. The only negative thing that is noticeable at high speeds is the smooth steering.

The 100 PS T-GDI has recently become available for the Picanto. We really recommend the 1.2-liter four-cylinder with 84 hp under the hood. For urban and rural areas, it spoils you with a pleasantly low test consumption of around five liters and that at icy temperatures around freezing point.
