Kia proceed 1.4 t-gdi gt-line test- performance alone is not everything

The Kia ProCeed is without a doubt one of the few beautiful and outstanding vehicles in recent years. After testing the ProCeed GT, however, the question also arises, what about the normal drive. Therefore, in the second and thus also the long-term test, a look at the Kia ProCeed 1.4 T-GDI.

Kia ProCeed becomes a bestseller

Regardless of the engine version, the ProCeed cuts a breathtakingly good figure. The great demand for the model and the postponement of production to additional ProCeed models prove that Kia is right with the car. An affordable shooting brake that is becoming a bestseller in the compact class. The GT-Line may even look a bit better than the ProCeed GT. Because you do without the additionally colored lip. After all, the GT-Line is only adorned with four colors. The picture is thus a much quieter one.

ProCeed 1.4 T-GDI in everyday comparison to the Ceed SW

Compared to the Ceed SW, you quickly notice in everyday life that you have to go deeper. “Inviting children” is also a little more difficult with the ProCeed. On the other hand, the trunk is still large and it swallows everything that comes in its way without any problems. In addition, the cleverly stowed lashing options help to hold everything in place with a sporty driving style.

It’s not the performance that counts, but the chassis

The 140 hp turbo gasoline engine is logically not too sporty. But you have to give the engineers one thing. The chassis gets the maximum out of the drive. At Kia, it was understood that performance is not always everything. Although it looks like “too little” for “a lot of fun”, the 140 horses delight on almost every winding country road. After the ProCeed is in motion, you quickly forget the small starting difficulties of the optional 7-speed DCT. It’s just consistently fun and extremely practical.
